The application

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) and polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) are biopolymers accumulated by various microorganisms as carbon storage. They are biodegradable and represent a concrete alternative to petroleum-derived plastics.

Their production requires high-cell-density fermentations with feeding strategies designed to induce polymer accumulation. Our bioreactors provide the control and scalability needed to move the process from lab to pilot scale.
